Altstadtfest - Old City Fest

The annual Altstadfest took place in Friedberg. Originally, I did not intend to go. In fact, I was in my German language class when my teacher made me aware of this event and asked each of us students if we were going. Well, I nonchalantely and perhaps, boringly, said, ‘no’. I assumed it would be a standard beer garden event. I assumed wrong. It was an actual fair with fun rides, games & prizes, comfort food booths, and hot music! And, the best thing about the fair? It literally is a 3 minute walk from my apartment. Soeren and I couldn’t help ourselves and made multiple trips to the fair throughout the afternoon, night, and next morning.

A variety of balloons for the kiddies…everytime I saw them, I had to think of the Pixar movie, “UP”.

A laser pistol game. Hier macht schiessen spass! (Shooting is fun here!)

Sweet cookies with sweet dedications. Meinem Liebling. (My darling)

Little train ride for the kiddies. I urged Soeren to ride it but he didn’t do it.

Hot Dog Bavaria! I took a bit of what I thought was a chance on something different. A hot dog with ketchup, mustard, sourkraut, dill pickles, and roasted onion chips. It was delicious!

More rides and games!

As night drew nearer, more people filled the streets.

Hot music by the Eagles and Rolling Stones among others filled the air.

A glorious Nutella choclate crepe.

In the afternoon the next day, I couldn’t help but get myself  some more cotton candy. It’s yummy!

And, then later near the evening some boiled corn with butter and salt.

I think all in all, I made 5 trips to the fair. The convenience of having it 2 minutes away was too tempting.
