Baking until Midnight
Yesterday, Soeren and I baked up a storm in the kitchen right after we had cleaned it spotless. It can’t be helped. With the strawberry pickings from Monday and although we had already eaten nearly a basketful, we had no choice but to come up with some strawberry recipes to spice up the menu.

In between, we made some homemade pizza. My favorite combination is tomato/basil/mozerella with some italian herb spices. I, of course, had to make a caprese salad with the remaining ingredients. Soeren made a ham/gouda cheese/greek olive pizza. After dinner was over, we proceeded to have coconut ice cream for dessert with strawberries as ‘garnish’. Lol The great thing about his coconut ice cream is that you can buy them from a store inside its husk which makes it all the more appetizing and attractive.

Then, the fun began as Soeren started cooking up some strawberry and coconut jam while I sliced strawberries for the mini-muffins we were to bake. Before we knew it, it was passed midnight when we finished our second batch of muffins. Cooking really has become an art more than a chore for us and certain things that I did not know about cooking are now becoming instinct. For example, it’s getting easier and easier to tell what food works well with others and what spices positively enhance the flavor of the dish. I love cooking! Can’t wait to show off my new skills to my parents. Hehe.
